Things to do in Dubai

Golf is only the start of Dubai's attractions.

Dubai has been declared the number one golf destination worldwide by the International Golf Tour Operators Association.Numerous golf tournaments take place at the many first-class courses with more championship courses being built each yeat, with the Al Badia the newest of the Championship courses.

In Dubai you will find everything from famous sporting events, divine dining out to shopping in the souqs. What's more, beautiful sand dunes and miles of white sandy beaches await, so you can soak up the sun all year round! It's hard to believe that Dubai once had very basic amenities, but life has changed dramatically, and we're certain you will be wowed by this desert turned modern metropolis. Dubai really is a city which will dazzle and inspire you time and time again.

Eat BBQ on the beach or Haut Cusine in the Hilton

There are hundreds of high quality restaurants with an amazing array of tastes from all over the world. Well-known chefs have introduced new contemporary restaurants offering a fusion of elegantly presented dishes. It is legal to drink alcohol in Dubai and this has now lead to a burgeoning nightclub and bar scene. So, from beach front to town centre, there are plenty of delights to choose from leaving you spoilt for choice!

Shop till you drop in dazzling air-conditioned Malls.

Huge modern air conditioned shopping malls are scattered around the city, offering all the top designer brands, and great prices on electrical goods and jewellery. Speaking of which, if you're looking for something special, then head to the Gold Souk across the Creek where you can pick up some genuine bargains, all complete with authenticity certificates. Dubai has a reputation for the best bargain hunting in the world. Being at the centre of world trade has its' advantages, as does a mere 5% import tax, so the chances are, you'll find it cheaper than anywhere in the world. The Dubai Shopping Festival takes place each February where everything is cut-price and there are many cash prizes to be won in the prize draws which take place weekly throughout the festival.

Work on your abs, or work on your tan.

Sport and fitness is also big business with hundreds of sports clubs and beach clubs as well as hi-tech gyms, fitness classes and top beauty salons and spas. If you don't want to join a club, you don't have to. There are plenty of tennis courts and jogging parks littered around the coast, and most residential complexes offer your own on-site facilities. But if its the relaxation you crave away from the beach, then you can drive out into the stunning mountains and deserts that surround Dubai and feel the amazing sense of freedom. Or for a more adventurous road-trip, try pot holing or mountain climbing.
